Powder Coating
Powder coating is a dry finishing method in which a thin layer of coating is electrostatically sprayed onto the workpiece, then melted to create a film. The coating is subsequently heated to undergo polymerization and curing. This process utilizes a single-coat system, where the electrostatic spray gun applies the coating once to the profile. Through high-temperature curing, the powder-coated aluminum profile is formed. Powder coating offers environmental benefits when compared to traditional liquid paint since it doesn’t rely on solvents to maintain the binder and filler components in a liquid suspension state.
Fluorocarbon (PVDF) Coating
PVDF coatings are composed of PVDF fluoropolymer resin and inorganic ceramic pigments. During the application process, a thin layer of coating is electrostatically sprayed onto the workpiece to create a film. The coating is then heated to undergo polymerization and curing. This process employs a two-coat or three-coat system, where the electrostatic spray gun applies the coating two or three times to ensure adequate coverage on the profile. PVDF demonstrates exceptional resistance to most chemicals and solvents and exhibits excellent durability against wear and abrasion. PVDF coatings are widely regarded as the most long-lasting options available, as they do not experience chalkiness or noticeable color changes.
